On yesterday's race we said: OUR VIEW: With only 38 points separating the top 6 on OSR this is a highly competitive handicap. To narrow them down, GUMBALL only 4 points clear at the top is our Lay of the race. Of the others the best 2 on LR are DESQUE DE LISLE who won a tactical affair over course and distance last time and THE WIDDOW MAKER (our tentative selection) who was effective at this trip over hurdles and worth another try at it now chasing.

The Lay was landed when GUMBALL failed to fire but our intrepid reporter got the other 2 the wrong way round as DESQUE DE LISLE won and THE WIDDOW MAKER was third.
