ANALYSIS: A tight race with the top 4 on OSR looking closely matched. ESCAPING THEJUNGLE top on OSR beat POLAR BEAR when they met over course and distance in September but 9lb better off at the weights and much softer going will swing things in the favour of the later. SAMS EXPRESS on a hattrick has to prove he is as effective on turf as on an artificial surface but if he is he could fill the runners up spot. THUNDERBEAR is totally unproven on the going. – K.

The result: 1st POLAT BEAR, 2nd ESCAPINGTHEJUNGLE, 3rd SAMS EXPRESS and 4th THUNDERBEAR, Lovejoy who we never even considered was backed into favouritism finished a well beaten fifth.
